This week I reflected on the idea of having a newsletter that goes out every Sunday morning, and I thought about how it serves as a form of church for me.
Another such form of therapy for me is found in my guitar lessons. Every week I set out on a mission to improve my playing. Some weeks I come up short and others I rise to the occasion. But every time I have the lesson it’s a bit of a ‘come to jesus’ moment. Fess up to your sins, but we won’t dwell on them though.
To get to the next level, I have learned firsthand the value of mentorship through these lessons, but you can also imagine how much accountability comes in here.
When it comes to my podcast and newsletter though, you hold me accountable. I think about all my readers and listeners every week. If I’m running late, or if I’m simply running out of ideas, you keep me going.
Podcast episode: Constancy Bears Fruit (6 minutes)
The phrase constancy bears fruit comes from the iChing. You might think the view outside your window is boring, but I love how it’s always evolving, not only with the seasons but as your life takes on new contours and adjustments.
I used to be afraid of playing and recording similar music from one piece to the next, and over time I have come to learn that this repetition is actually what makes you have a style or a unique sound. That is the fruit that gets ripened over time.
You may also listen on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or on other podcast players.
Thanks for listening and have a great week ahead!
