This week I have a new track available called Good Vibe Society. Sending it off for release on streaming was the last thing I did before heading out on a multi-day hiking trip to Algonquin Park.
After nursing my sore muscles and mosquito bites, I woke up this morning and listened to it on Spotify, and was satisfied with the whole process of letting it go a week ago and coming back to see it formed into the world outside of my home.
Because I realize that you can write songs all day, but if they’re not shared with anyone you will never grow. The act of release completes the cycle and closes the circuit.
One final note: share the work that’s most important to you, which can be the work that’s unclear, less defined, and basically terrifying, but by sharing it you shed light on it and give it definition.
Sharing your work and letting go of it is the most simple business plan an artist or creative person can adopt.
And as you learn to let go, you start to apply this idea of letting go to more areas of your life.
The universe is constantly shifting and evolving, and you were given just a small blink of time to work with. So what are you trying to hold on to so desperately?
See you next week :)
