This week I played a short piece in Bickford Park in Toronto. It’s my second park that I’ve played music in. I knew this one would be awful from a psychological point-of-view because my only time slot to do the video was at peak park time.
A loud and busy park is maybe not the most ideal scenario to find a sense of relaxation when you play music. But nonetheless, the show must go on.
Before heading out, I knew I would be prone to putting off this project, but I did the simple of exercise of saying hello to myself.
You read that right - you say hello and activate the voice inside your head. This is a quick way to access consciousness. It’s like a cheat code back in the days of Nintendo when you’d hold down A B A A, Select, Up, Down and the game would turn all weird on you. You just say hello.
Unconsciousness is how we spend most of our waking days. Riddled with fear, worrying about this that or the other.
And so reconnecting with myself in this quick and simple way, I packed up my gear and headed out to the park to record a short bit of music.
Take a chance on some of these tunes…
See you next week, I hope your dreams come true tomorrow at 2pm.
