All this activity: making music, recording podcasts, hilarious videos. The constant behind all this is managing one’s fear. So I ask you, what scares the crap out of you, and why?
I am starting to learn that the human is possibly becoming the most fragile species of the planet, mostly because of the idea of memory. We take information in and we store it on permanent record. Yet the idea of forgetting is more liberating. Clearing the slate and letting new ideas take shape.
Do you think our cats and dogs are keeping such close tabs on everyone in their life week to week? Do you think they criticize themselves 30 times a day? We have such a habit of sentencing ourselves to a mental prison every week.
You may be able to calculate how many days you have left to live based on life expectancy, but maybe it’s better to just know that today is the only day that exists. This hour and this moment, which is the breath.
