The Ability to Say Hi
Hello and welcome to this week’s edition of the Sunday Bagel. There should be at least one thing in here that could be useful to you.

My focus for this season has been on networking. Which is really just the ability to say hi to people. Most people will put this off until their work has dried up, but what I’m paying attention to is how can people make networking a part of their day to day lifestyle.
The biggest thing I’ve learned is that it can take a few days of sending messages to people before it starts to feel marginally acceptable.
Because we are so used to being comfortable, and reaching out to new people or someone you haven’t spoken to in a while can bring up all sorts internal garbage. But it doesn’t have to be. Give yourself the opportunity to meet new people and expand your impact on this world.
And you might think that December is an awful time for this type of activity, but I think it’s the perfect time of year to try to schedule virtual coffee with people.
If you are interested in chatting with me about what I do and how I work, I would be happy to schedule some time with you. Just write back to this email and say hi.
Three Ideas from My Notebooks
1. Pressure moves creative work forward. But be careful that the source of the pressure is positive. Being motivated to make an impact on the world is a better pressure than trying to show off to someone and make them feel low.
2. Creativity only happens through action and getting your reps in. You have to get ideas out onto the page and keep working them.
3. The practice means that you return to a calm state when things seem chaotic and unruly. It takes a lot of effort to not freak out when things don’t go the way you expected. That’s why it’s a practice. A calm, consistent state of mind is like operating a business.
Infinity Waves Playlist
This week I didn’t work on a new track, but feel free to listen to this playlist which has a lot my newest ones on it.
We’re almost done this week’s newsletter, so feel free to write back or leave a comment.
Wishing you a great week ahead. You can do it…
