With the arrival of Taylor Swift in Toronto for a series of six concerts, many young teen girls, girly boys and their families are learning the truth that I have written about many times in this newsletter: The universe is cold, hard, lonely, and no one gives a damn about your struggles.
And after next weekend, everyone who didn’t get tickets will return to the other side of this truth: That even though we are constantly passed over by the cool kids or the “it” crowd, none of it matters and by this camera angle and the poop is still going to land outside the water in the toilet and we’ll have to scrub it out ourselves.
No cleaning lady is coming to scrub your poop out of the margins of the bowl every time it happens.
And the next time this feeling of FOMO happens to you, or you are overcome by emotion asking you to do the most ridiculous things, I want you to remember the Taylor Swift fans and I want you to visualize what happens a week after the shows are over: The FOMO passes over you. It simply disappears. As if none of this ever happened.
The situation is always constantly unfolding like a newscast. What looks like a bad turn of events one day becomes a blessing the next.
To not fall into the trap of seeing the map as the terrain is a form of awakening. This is the moment you are able to fly over the pond and not be stuck inside it.
The Womb
This release breaks a fairly long blockage. I have been finishing music and posting it for many months, but I was blocked when it came time to release it to all the streaming services.
The Womb is a return to the essence of creation. Inside the womb there is stillness and protection from all the forces outside. In this space, only the most critical projects are attended to and everything else can wait.
When you are lost and looking for direction, always return to The Womb or your origin.
Elliot I’m not even sure how I first connected with you, but your writing is always exactly what. I need to read.
So glad you released The Womb! Congratulations. A pleasure listening.
