If you didn’t hear from me today, then I worry you might have the worst year of your life. But since I have risen to the podium, i’m here to tell you that it’s going to be more than alright.
Anyone who chooses to see the world as broken and needs fixing can part ways with me at once.
For everyone who is left we can begin to get to work.
Not many places are open today. But this Turkish ice cream parlour is open for some reason. I wanted a coffee and even though the lady behind the counter didn’t speak a word of English, I negotiated an order for Turkish coffee.
She disappeared for a solid ten minutes (which felt like an hour based on the magnitude of the order), before coming back with this beautiful little tray as expected.
One mini coffee hotter than a baby shooting out of a womb, three chocolate covered almonds and a glass of water three quarters full.
Great experiences take time to create, but they seem like they happened in an instant.
A word to my past self, and you who happen to be reading this message to him: You get to choose what you want in this lifetime.
You decide what food your body needs, and what firmness your mattress will be at night.
No one gets to decide these things for you.
And that also means that no one’s going to come save you when your bad choices catch up with you after a while.
Everything in front of you is a mirror reflection of all the choices you’ve made up until today, for better or for worse.
Be willing to live today as if tomorrow is not possible. Because all you have is this exact moment in time.
Knowing that tomorrow does not exist (since it is a fabrication of your mind), how would you treat the people around you?
Who would you be able to forgive at the drop of a hat be done with it?
And more importantly, what type of dent would you like to put in the universe?
Let this small cup of Turkish coffee fuel you with good vibes to take on your journey this year.
