Happy Sunday, the day of bagels. Lower down in this edition I have a preview of my newest track out this week.
When we wake up every day is a new chance to see things with a fresh set of eyes. If something is bothering you lately, every day is an opportunity to let go of that thing more and more.
What challenges are you tackling this week, and how can you wake up to those challenges and be excited about taking them on?
Three Ideas from Me:
1. Notice when you’re imagining what other people think about you. “Their” commentary. I put their in quotes because you have usually made up what other people are thinking. This is all noise.
2. Internal motivation means you are doing things because you will learn things along the way. External motivation means you are doing them to seek approval from others. We need a bit of both to push us forward but try to remember the first category when you get a bit wonky with your work.
3. We look at the world through different windows on a house. Some windows represent the past. When we look through those windows it’s either a sense of regret or longing. I would rather look through other windows that represent the present or the future. What is possible when we choose to let go of storylines?
Movie Recommendation: Unknown - The Cosmic Time Machine
I felt a little silly watching this Netflix documentary, as I didn’t know just how significant the launch of the James Webb Telescope was.
It took decades to build, and had far more “single point failures” than any other space mission. Meaning if one of those things went wrong, the whole thing would fall apart or just become a piece of junk floating around in space.
The telescope helps scientists see into early galaxies, close to around the time of the Big Bang and will also help them identify new planets which might have life on them.
New Track: Between Tomorrow
This tune continues my exploration into the world that I build with sounds. But every song is an exercise in getting out of my own way.
I am inspired by cinematic, ambient music, but I love working with the roots of country and blues alongside these soundscapes.
I am just sharing a short snippet of the song which will drop on Spotify and streaming this Wednesday and will be shared in next weekend’s edition (Spotify pre-save link).
Paid subscribers to the Sunday Bagel have already been sent the full track. Join them in your support of this newsletter and unlock all of my next songs ahead of their release, including this one.
Happy birthday weekend to Marni!
Thank you and enjoy the fresh week. Anything is possible.
