Good morning, happy Sunday friend. This week ahead will be great, take it from me. Your theme will be shedding excess weight - not in body fat but in objects of the mind that no longer serve you.
Here are three ideas from me as you go on your journey from Monday through to Saturday:
Double your rate of failure. Like putting salt on your popcorn, if you think you’ve failed enough, fail a bit more. Add more salt to the problem.
A great skill beyond coding and negotiation is learning how to clean your nasal passages out. I used to use a Neti pot but it was so awkward I never used it. Now I use the squeeze bottle product from the same company (NeilMed). There are videos online like this one, but the main thing is that you have to use distilled water which can also be microwaved for a short time before it goes into the bottle. It’s about as pleasant as being forced to dive into the water in swimming class as a kid but you should research the benefits of it to make that side more appealing.
If you feel like you have 10% more knowledge than the general public on a topic, you can give yourself permission to teach it. If you have 10% more skill than the general public at making art, then you should give yourself permission to make more of it and share it. Too often we feel like we don’t have the authority to do this or that thing but it’s not true
Recommendation
I have been enjoying the new album by the North Americans. I love their take on new age music without falling into the corniness that floods the airwaves of massage studios and spas around the world.
Their sound is most captured with acoustic and lap steel guitars. You sit out on the porch with this in your headphones and everything will be fine for a bit.

Here’s a sunset that I captured on the second night of Passover outside of my sister’s house. The air was still cool before Toronto got blasted with summer-like heat this week.

My question for you to put in your back pocket this week is: What is beginning to germinate in your life? What projects or visions are starting to take shape?
Have a great week and enjoy a fully loaded bagel at some point…

A bit late to the party, but as you've said before, better late than never :)
A few things I've learned over time about neti pot:
- prepare boiled (sterile) water with just normal salt (not something fancy), but be sure to taste and *like* it, salinity of the body varies a lot, so it needs to match in order to better help your nasal passages
- should be as warm as you feel okay on your cheek
- leave the water to start running, even if it is initially just dripping - helps to clean up more from your sinuses.
