Thanks Elliott for the food for thought.

Made me think - is it ok at some point of your life to not want to dream big, or go big?

I’m just so wanting to downsize in outlook and effort... is that old age, burnout, or natural swing of the pendulum?

Is dreaming big - what capitalism and socialism taught us? Is there a valid alternative?

Oh this is a juicy question. I think the statement was open to misinterpretation because big and small are often used to describe our financial/material aspirations, and I also put the word dreaming in there too to make it even more unclear (however that is the point of these ideas is that they are short so that they can be interpreted in different ways).

"We have a tendency or default mode of being that has us think small and get caught up in the weeds. Take some time to think big about what you want from your remaining years in this incarnation. Dreaming has no limits."

So big doesn't have to be something like running a successful business or being a prolific artist. Big can mean that you are able to rise about the petty way of life that we sometimes take on with each other. Thinking small is when the ego is running the show. So your idea about downsizing outlook is compatible with this. You are looking to do what fits right for you. Thinking small in this case would be doing what society prescribes for you even if it makes us miserable.

And it really comes down to having the highest standards possible for yourself. That can mean having enough time for quiet solitude or to do things on your own terms like living outside the city for a better quality of life. That would be thinking big in this case and it's definitely a bold way of thinking.

Agreed, I like the interpretation, thank you. Small doesn’t mean petty, and could be pretty big on a different scale!

Off to defy the society. Thanks Elliott.
